KISSIMMEE, FL — In a shocking turn of events, a local Poodle/Shih Tzu mix has been arrested for allegedly organizing an underground squirrel-fighting ring. The poodle, known only as “Poof”, was apprehended by police early this morning after a tip-off from a concerned citizen.
According to sources close to the investigation, Poof had been running the squirrel-fighting ring for several months, luring unsuspecting squirrels into the ring with promises of acorns and other sugar water, before forcing them to fight to the death.
“This is a disturbing trend we’re seeing among the canine community,” said Officer Kemp. “We need to put a stop to this kind of behavior before it gets out of hand.”
Here are some ironic facts about this disturbing case:
- Poof had reportedly been using a “secret squirrel whistle” to attract squirrels to the fighting ring.
- The ring was allegedly being run out of an abandoned doghouse in the woods on the outskirts of town.
- Several other dogs are said to have been involved in the operation, but so far Poof is the only one to have been arrested, and she is refusing to give any additional information.
In light of this shocking news, some are calling for stricter regulations on dog ownership, including mandatory obedience training and background checks for all dog owners.
But others argue that this is an isolated incident, and that most dogs are loving and loyal companions.
What do you think? Is this an isolated incident, or is there a larger trend of canine criminality that needs to be addressed?
