I thought he was a ‘shoe-in’. He always brings treats and scratches behind my ears, but I guess I didn’t think it through.
Noodle, local Corgi
LaGRANGE, GA — In a stunning turn of events, a dog in the area has expressed regret over voting for the mailman in the recent mayoral election. Despite initially being impressed by the mailman’s ability to navigate the neighborhood with ease and deliver packages on time, the dog has now come to the conclusion that the mailman is not fit for office.
Noodle is not the only dog in the area who voted for the mailman. In fact, a pack of dogs down the street all voted for him as well. Sources say that other animals in the area are expressing disappointment in the mailman’s performance as mayor, since he does not hold any actual political power.
Many are now criticizing details in the mailman’s campaign as ‘too good to be true’, including:
- Proposed plans for improving the local park by adding more fire hydrants.
- Promises to increase the number of government-subsidized bones.
- Universal belly rubs and ear scratches.
Despite these criticisms, the mailman won the election by a wide margin. Now, many residents are left wondering if they made the right choice.
As for Noodle, he is learning from his mistake and plans to be more informed in future elections.
“I’ll be sure to do my research next time,” Noodle said. “Maybe I’ll even run for office myself. Who knows, I might make a good city councilman.”
